One hundred men will test today but only three win the Green Beret.

Carl Meloche, Green Beret... NOT!!

We were sent Carl Meloche by a local who has had a number of dealings with him over the years. The person that reached out to us said he was somewhat of a loose cannon that claimed to be a Green Beret. He added that Carl gave him a Business card that read:

"Warning" I suffer from occasional loss of mental stability, and become very violent with only slight provocation. The Veteran's administration has determined that both mental and physical harassment of my person may be hazardous to your health and well being. So stay out of my face! Thank You

After a few emails, we were able to make contact with Carl. You can hear him in his own words here: 👉👉 Carl on the phone👈👈

We started looking into him and saw 3 articles online with his Special Forces claims about being in Vietnam and having made 1000s Jumps. In one of those articles, we saw him in an SFA sweatshirt. We made a call to both SFA Chapter 49 and SFA National. He was never a member Ch 49, nor any other SFA chapter for that matter. So we looked a little further. We checked Sherman's databases and he appeared in none of them. We searched the Green Beret Magazine that were published in country during that time, again, he wasn't mentioned.

So we did a records request and what Carl claims vs what are facts seem to differ considerably.

He claims he went to Vietnam in '63: False

He claims he went to Vietnam in '65: False

He claims he went to Vietnam in '68: False

He claims he went to Vietnam in '72: True

He claims he was one of 4000 men that volunteered for SF and was one of 6 selected: False

He claims his Drill instructor talked him into going Airborne: False, he never attempted Jump School.

He claims multiple tours as an Engineer and a Special Forces Team: False, he never attempted Special Forces Training Group.

Paratrooper with 1000 jumps: False, He was NEVER Airborne.

Was at Lang Vei Special Forces camp in '68 when it was over run: False, in 1968 he was stationed in Alaska.

Remained in Special Forces after Vietnam until he retired in '78: False, you can't remain in Special Forces if you were never in Special Forces to begin with.

Carl Meloche will now be added to Hall of Zeroes

No Idea. It's hard to follow up on these guys as the workload is very heavy. We expose them and move on.

Great site I am glad to see it in operation. William Frank Grist SF

U.S. Naval Aircrewman (90-95):

He's also a registered sex offender....and a scum bag.

U.S. Naval Aircrewman (90-95):

I think this is well known by this point - but for added extra bonus actually is a REAL registered sex offender. This guy is a danger to the community in a multitude of ways & he shows no shame or remorse & he's also a real d-bag. He needs to get locked up.

Brian M Whitney:

Is he still getting 100% disability or was he ever? Whats the deal with this story?

Don Canaday:

Every time some faker claiming to be SF gets in trouble or acts up, it can reflect badly on us in the media. Another reason to point them out when they present themselves.

Wow! I am stupefied that a sex offender would expose himself to so much attention and expect the truth to not come out...

I refuse to believe any SF or Operator would wear that bow tie, just saying.

Usually when I see a guy with this much shite on a vest, jacket and hats he does not pass the smell test. If you screaming that loud "look at me I am a hero" you probably aren't.

I guess he spent 1 year and 5 months as a pivot man and is trying to reclaim his dignity. Sorry never going to happen now.
