Everything used here falls under multiple aspects of the fair use doctrine. The phone call link was recorded with permission and pictures were taken from public FB posts. We had a conference call with FB's policy and content team and they approve our mission.
We were sent Jesse Lauderdale a few months ago. We were told he claimed to be a Green Beret in Vietnam. He mentioned a number of SF missions he was on and had a habit of terrorizing members of his American Legion and VFW.
We sent for his records and he wasn't even Airborne much less a Green Beret. We called him and he was very short and rude with us and ended up hanging up on us. We texted him about doing the article anyway and he agreed to take a second call.
During our phone call, he stated multiple times that he NEVER claimed to have been a Green Beret and only wore the 5th Grp flash on his vest to remember those he served with. That's the polar opposite of what people said about him. Many people sent emails, going on record about him claiming to be a Green Beret.
He did admit during the call that he never earned a CIB but thought he had the right to wear one because he was attached to an Infantry unit for a short time. He also admitted that he never earned the Basic Airborne Badge that he wears on his vest also. He told us during the call that he had gotten hurt during Jump School and thought he had the right to wear them. We then asked him when he went through Jump School and when he told us the year, we pointed out to him, that isn't shown on his 2-1. That's when he changed his answer to "He got hurt before Jump School"... So one second he got hurt during Jump School and one second later, it was before Jump School. It was yet another lie he was caught in.
He told us he'd immediately remove the unearned patches and sent us a picture after he completed the removal.
If you've heard Jesse Lauderdale the fake Green Beret make statements about his time in Special Forces, Green Berets, earning the Combat Infantry Badge, time in Jump School, or earning the Basic Parachutist Badge (Airborne Wings), email us a statement. We will redact your email address and use what you send in. So be truthful but don't mention names or places that can dime you out as the author of the email:

Put his name in the subject and we'll add it to the picture section with the other emails from people that have steps up.
California changed the laws two years ago so we can't share the calls we had with him stating he never claimed to be a Green Beret. That being said, we could record a meeting that his Legion and VFW people had where they addressed the issue.
You can hear that meeting in the link below:
👉 The Lauderdale Meeting 👈
You can clearly hear during the meeting that all members present pretty much agreed that Jesse Lauderdale the fake Green Beret has claimed to be a Green Beret to any and all members of the American Legion and VFW over the years.
It looks like Jesse might have had issues during his last stint in the service as it appears he separated as a PV-1 (E-1) after being reduced in rank from a SSG (E-6).
He had four sets of DD214s and told us the first three we had were indeed his yet the last one wasn't his. We checked back a second time with NPRC and they confirmed it was indeed his, so that was yet another lie from Jesse Lauderdale the fake Green Beret.
Jesse did serve. He did serve in Vietnam. That's more than most and he could have stood on his service as it was, yet he felt the need to make himself into more than what he was.
Jesse was already being removed from the American Legion for actions unbecoming. Not a single person we talked to had anything good to say about this man. That's a sad statement about the way this dude has lived his life. Many times when we expose these people, those that know them mention what nice guys they are... This was just the opposite in this case. He was being removed for being an asshole to his fellow Legion members.
For that, he's earned himself a place on guardiansofthegreenberet.com Hall of Zeros forever.
