What are the chances you sit down across the desk from a guy you’re trying to impress and potentially get a job from and you're BOTH Green Berets? When you

Not only that, you both served in 7th SFG(A)…
Not only that, you both served in 1/7 SFG(A)…
Not only that, you both served on ODA 721…
This is what happened to Nicholas Paea… LOL
👉Phone call with both Nick and his wife.👈
You can read the entire email sent to us from Mike, who's a legit Green beret, and the guy Nicholas Paea was sitting across from in picture section #20-22. It's well worth the read. Do not have any liquid in your mouth you might spit out while laughing.
The interview was going and Mike (Legit GB) saw Nicholas Paea’s SF ring:
SF Ring Mike saw to start the conversation about his time in Special Forces.
That's when Mike brought up the subject of Special Forces. Nick was more than willing to talk about his SF exploits. The meeting started going sideways when Nicholas mention he completed the Special Forces Qualification Course without having to go through Robin Sage ( Final FTX in the Special Forces Qualification Course) because he did TDY time with Teams before the Q-Course. (Not Happening). It went further off point when he claimed to have been on ODA 721 the same ODA that Mike was a Team Leader on, within a few years.
What are the chances you sit across from someone and you choose the same ODA that he served on as a TL only years before?
You can’t make this stuff up if you wanted to.
Nicholas Paea the fake Green Beret tells people he served multiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq with the 7th Special Forces Group. He also claims he received 2 Purple Hearts. He claims one is from being hit by an IED, which gave him a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury).
He claims a Bronze Star with Valor and is seen wearing a CIB (Combat Infantryman’s Badge) with a star, which means he would have had to seen action in another theater besides the War on Terror. He also wears a Blue Infantry cord, yet is seen wearing it on the wrong side of the uniform!
After Mike reached out to Guardians, we looked into Mr. Paea. We started digging and found a lot of all of Paea’s claims online. Below is a snapshot of his LinkedIn profile before he changed it.
He claims 7th SFG, 12 years as an SF Communications Sergeant, and then gives a general description of what an 18E does. A better picture is in the picture section.
These were taken by members of the SF community soon after the chatter started about him.
Mr. Paea also did an interview with “The Activist” which is a newspaper at the University of Cincinnati, as you can see below, he claims to be a former Green Beret who served in Iraq and Afghanistan and suffers from PTSD and TBI. He was trying to start a Veteran’s support group at the college, this was also one of the reasons questions got asked, because someone on the board at the college knew Mike, GB who reached out to us and asked him about Nick. SF is a small community, everyone knows everyone and if you don’t, someone you know does. After the questions started, his Vet’s group did not make it too far off the ground.
We found him giving his opinion of a product online:
He gave a speech to the UC Army ROTC about life as an SF operator, we called the LTC there but it was too late because he already gave the talk.
The Disabled American Veteran’s also made him a poster boy due to his claims, according to the below snippet from the website he suffered a brain injury and back trauma while serving in Afghanistan.
We reached out to the SF Schoolhouse and were told:
Paea was a member of Class 2-00 on 16 Dec 99 Started SFQC Communications SGT Course Ph 1 class 2-01;
Admin Recycle to class 3-01 on 24 May 01.
Relieved from SFQC Communications SGT Course Ph 1 class 3-01 for admin reasons on 17 Jan 02.
No record of any additional training.
This means Nicholas Paea the fake Green Beret did not earn the Special Forces Tab, nor did he earn the Green Beret. He has no right to pretend to be one of us.
In the emails, he tells us that he borrowed the uniform, but that does not explain the claims to the SF member at the DAV event in which he claimed SF and all the articles. We really hope he is being honest about the claims to the VA through the DAV, and that his claim was for the parachute mishap not an injury from a non-existent deployment.
We called Nicholas Paea the fake Green Beret and he couldn’t explain how a “Borrowed” uniform from an Army/Navy store just happen to have both an SF shoulder sleeve insignia and a Combat patch from the exact same unit, 506th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Korea, he served with while in Korea. He didn’t have a good explanation for that. The chances of that happening are about 0% or less.
Claiming he only borrowed the uniform. The bigger picture is in the picture section.
Hmm, It looks like Nicholas Paea the fake Green Beret was caught in yet another lie as those that served with him in Korea, remember him showing up wearing a Special Forces Tab:
Nick claims he never really pretended to be a Green Beret but those that served with him in Korea, remember him showing up with a Special Forces Tab, that he was made to remove.
And another guy remembers him wearing the SF Tab also:
Nick claims he never really pretended to be a Green Beret but those that served with him in Korea, remember him showing up with a Special Forces Tab, that he was made to remove.
It looks like Nicholas Paea the fake Green Beret started being fake GB while still on active duty. It also looks like he lied about other things also as we see no record of him earning an EIB yet he wears it on his uniform while in Korea.
EIB is NOT in his records. So it looks like he has been lying about many things for a long time, even on active duty.

Went AWOL while in Korea. Confirmed to wife while one of GOTGB reps was on the phone with both of them.
After much dialog with both Nicholas and his wife Julie, we were able to get Nick to post a public apology. Nick was ready to do it earlier but his wife ordered him to remove it because she was worried about what people would like of her. She didn't seem worried about his lie, only what people would think of her. You can hear that on the phone call we recorded.
Nicholas tried to apologize but his wife ordered him to take it down. It was only after we said we'd contact her work that she agreed to allow the apology. The reason we told her we would contact her work as she was trying to bury his public apology and we felt he had told the lie at company functions. We had to correct that if she wouldn't allow him to.
Nicholas Paea, you'll now be added to guardiansofthegreenberet.com hall of zeros forever.
