We were sent Rick Couty (pronounced Cooty) a while back and it looks like others had questions about him also. If you've had contact with the fake Green Beret Rick "Bug" Couty over the years and can attest to him claiming to have been a Green Beret, please email us: contact@guardiansofthegreenberet.com
The email below is dated 2006. The redacted part is about Larry McCartney (Fale GB, SEAL, Force Recon) and he goes on the ask about Rick Couty also:

He and his friend, Larry McCartney, who we will do in another article had been "posing" as Green Berets for about 40 years at a Kokomo Indiana, and Melbourne Florida Vietnam Veterans annual reunion. In the picture below, you can see the fake Green Beret Rick Couty and Larry McCartney.
Rick "Cooty Bug" Couty and his friend the fake Green Beret, SEAL, and Force Recon.
McCartney wears a Beret with a 5th Grp flash, SEAL trident, and LTC Rank and Rick "Bug" Couty wears a crest that was never authorized. How someone didn't call these frauds out earlier is beyond belief.
So we got Couty's records and called him. He avoided the call for days. It was only after we left a message about mentioning his son's business that he decided to make contact with us and allow the call. You can hear the phone call in this link:

When we shred a link to the video in a vetted SF site, we had a legit GB come forward and mention he had words with the fake Green Beret Rick Couty years ago.
Legit GB mentioning his run-in with the fake GB Rick Couty, years ago.
It looks like Rick Couty the fake Green Beret was a member of a group of posers. The more we went down the rabbit hole of people on his friend's list, the more fake Green Berets we found. Geez... How do these fakes find each other? Is there a secret recognition signal they emit?
So what did Rick Couty the fake Green Beret actually do n the service? He was a 31E Field Radio Repairman and ETS'd an E-4.
You have to wonder what goes through the heads of these fakes, frauds, and phonies? This is one of the fakes that actually got an SF Tattoo. We could actually start an entirely new section of the fake SF guys with fake tattoos.
The 5th Grp Flash on the fake Green Beret Rick Couty's wrist. He never spent a day in Special Forces.
Rick "Bug" Couty the fake Green Beret said he'll get the tat removed. We won't hold our breath as he initially said it was already removed during our phone call.
Fake T-shirts, Fake gold necklace, fake hats, fake uniforms worn at the Vietnam Veteran's yearly reunion, and fake tattoo. This man spent a lot of money over the years and lied to 1000"s of people he came into contact with. It's our job to correct the lie.
We were told his wife made a somewhat threatening call to an individual when his lie was brought to light. Don't hate the messenger, hate the message, and Rick "Bug" Couty was the one that wrote this message decades ago.
Rick Couty, you'll now be added to guardiansofthegreenberet.com hall of zeroes for evermore.
