We were sent Brad by his local VFW. They seemed to have questions about some of his claims.
He submitted his DD214 to join yet didn’t qualify according to the standards they set.
He submitted a second set, and again he didn’t qualify.
He submitted yet a third set and this time a Combat Infantry Badge appear on his DD214 and they allowed him to join and also reached out to us.
You see, he also claimed to have been a Special Forces Medic.
We checked with the SF Schoolhouse at Bragg and they confirmed beyond doubt he was a drop from the course.
In the few pictures you see, he has both a Special Forces Long tab, meaning he’s a Green Beret and completed the SFQC (Special Forces Qualification Course), and the Combat Infantry Badge.
In the picture where he’s wearing a ball cap, You can also see the tail end of the word Group. You also see a Red "Flash" and a Special Forces crest. That would give you the impression he was in 7th SFG(A). You can see on his 2-1, the picture with the red 2 in the upper right corner, that he was indeed a student but trying to attain the Green Beret and become SF qualified, yet he was dropped and you see nothing past that. You do NOT see him assigned to 7th SFG(A) as he would indicate with that cap.
In the other picture, you’ll again see the SF Tab and also a CIB. We did two NPRC requests on Brad. Once via regular channels and again via an emergency request. Two different people came back with the exact same result. No SF (Which we already knew) and also no CIB. When questioned about his CIB by the VFW, he said he received it with 10th Mtn Div. The VFW reached out to them and they confirmed they were NOT deployed during the time he claims to have been in combat with 10th Mtn Div.
In the pictures below, you’ll see the DD214 he provided the VFW on try #3. In it you’ll see the CIB appear. We have never seen that type Font used on a DD214. The funny thing about the 3rd one he gave to the VFW… Someone forgot to add his Parachutist Badge that's actually in his records. LOL
