Meet Ron Dickey,  Mississippi Democratic candidate for Congress in District One. Ron has proclaimed in his list of accomplishments and past endeavors to be a “former Green Beret”. He refers to himself as a “Green Beret Veteran of Desert Storm” and is using this claim to garner votes with the local veterans and general public. He claims that while assigned to 3rd Special Forces Group that he was authorized to wear the Green Beret therefore he can refer to himself as a “former Green Beret”. While the first portion of this claim is true, he never went through or attempted to attend Special Forces (Green Beret) training. During the time of his claim he was assigned as a Food Specialist, 94B. All support personnel assigned to a Special Forces unit were authorized to wear the Green Beret by the Commander, US SOCOM from 1991-May1993. This policy change was implemented because qualified Green Berets were awarded the Special Forces Tab which supposedly distinguished them from the support soldiers in the units. Authorization for support personnel wearing the beret ceased in May 1993 when Gen. Wayne Downing took command of US SOCOM. RON IS NOT EVEN AIRBORNE QUALIFIED, which he has made no claims to be, except for the FACT that in order to be a “Green Beret”, a soldier is required to be Airborne qualified first. More smoke and mirrors with the intention of misleading the voting public.

Ron also claims to be a Veteran of Desert Storm (2 August 1990 – 28 February 1991) and that when “...he got back from the Middle East, he developed extensive skin abrasions. He still doesn’t know if he was exposed to something during the war, but his health began to deteriorate quickly (sic).” However, his records do not show authorization for either the Southwest Asia Service Medal or the Kuwait Liberation Medal which were awarded to soldiers who actually deployed to the Persian Gulf during Desert Storm. Ronald is using the loose claim of being an Active Duty Soldier DURING Desert Storm to being a Veteran of Desert Storm. Again, Ronald Dickey is using an element of truth to bolster claims of valor and honor he did not earn.

Next, there have been several instances where Ron Dickey has inferred that he is a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He has listed it in resumes and inferred membership as far back as 2006 in a Newsweek article. A review of his records shows no award of the Purple Heart for wounds received in time of military conflict, a requirement for membership in this fraternity. Again, Mr Dickey uses fragments of the truth, to gain wider glory and honor.

On all of these issues, Ronald will probably call it, a misunderstanding, a faux pas, or a mix up.

Ron Dickey is a true politician, creating a vision of himself in the public eye that is completely the opposite of what he is; a LIAR and FRAUD. Ron Dickey, knows that he has mislead the public in his campaign yet still argues his claims are valid. He knows he wasn’t a “Green Beret” yet he continues to make this claim. Ron Dickey is a typical politician who embellishes his qualifications and uses misleading information to gain popularity and votes. In reality Ron Dickey is a FRAUD and LIAR, who will do whatever necessary to accomplish his goals. Ron Dickey has posted his lies on his own Face Book, Pinterest, Twitter and other sites. He has mislead news reporters, radio hosts and local organizations with his claims to be a former “Green Beret”. While Ron Dickey did serve honorably in the U.S. Army, he was not a Green Beret as he claims. Why he feels he has to mislead the public is unknown. Maybe he just wants to present himself to be something greater than he actually was. Serving as a Special Forces Green Beret is something few accomplish. It’s something that Ron Dickey never did. Bluntly, Mr Dickey is likely lying on multiple issues relating to past history, experience, and honors.

It’s time that that the public know who they are dealing with….RON DICKEY, A LIAR AND FRAUD and former Army Food Service Specialist. His claims of being a Special Forces (Green Beret) soldier are nothing but lies. What else is a lie?
