We were sent Eddie Galang a while back after someone met him and he claimed to be a Ranger and Green Beret. We found those claims to be false, among other claims of his.
He claims to have been on a 3 man team doing stuff in South America.
Edwin Tingstrom claims that he was a a combat infantryman in Vietnam, Captain, Airborne, and SF... All FALSE
John thinks going AWOL twice, being a deserter, and Construction Equipment Operator (62E10) gives him the right to claim to have been a Green Beret. WRONG
“CSM” Reggie claims to have had 25 years in Special Operations Command and told our investigator that he served in 5th SFG(A).
Both are false claims.
Some are much to easy. We knew he asn't SF after taking a few second look at his pictures. He also said he never really claimed it to anyone, but we see a screen shot where he did. If we found an example in seconds, he probably did it many times.
"Bullgoose" claimed Airborne and SF, he used a real ODA photo as his own. We found the names of those in the picture and the guy that took the pic. He wasn't in it. he even went so far as to get an SF tattoo.
Richard claimed to have been Marine Corp “Spec Ops” in addition to Special Forces that was a POW in Hanoi.
Claims 5th SFG(A) in Vietnam but never made it through the Q-course and went AWOL
He said he never claimed to have been a Green Beret. Two of his duaghters went on records that he did.
Green Beret or Austrian Royal Guard as he alluded to...

Thomas Heben even had his brother a navy SEAL convinced that he was a Green Beret, even though he didn't make it through selection and went AWOL.
It seems Nick had trouble long before he claimed to have been a Green Beret and murdering his wife.

Peter Schlenker, Fake Green Beret has also claimed to have been awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. These claims were supported by plaques that Schlenker owns and displays.

Joe claims to have spent 18 months in the hospital recovering from crushed vertebrae after a parachute accident. However, it seems that Joe wasn't even Airborne qualified.

It seems that Ron Stone has been making a bit of money writing books about his service in Viet Nam while claiming to be a former Special Forces soldier. Only thing, he wasn't.
Ron was a cook in 3rd Grp. he claimed since the Army gave him a Green Beret, that qualified him as one. Wrong.
Rudi Gresham, fake Green Beret, used his SF claims to benefit himself for decades.
Bruce claimed we sent a hit squad to get him after we exposed his lies. Locals also said he would talk down to other as "He was a Green Beret"

This news is pretty sad for me because I knew the guy. The 1998 overwrite should read that he was the commander of C Troop, 1-18 Cav. I don't recall him wearing any tabs or badges. I am glad that a 19th Group (Guard) guy brought this to your attention. To me this casts a shadow of suspicion with anybody in the Guard. He left the Guard prior to GWOT. I think that the Guard did our share in GWOT with multiple mobilizations and deployments. I was mobilized twice, including a year in Afghanistan as an Infantryman. Now I'll wonder if people will think I'm a liar if I say anything about my service. Thanks Eddie...

They should make a documentary about how this turd BS'd his way through the years in order to be in a position to be standing next to Presidents, politicians & celebritys. I get pissed when I think of all the others like him but that have never gotten exposed or caught. Great job catching this s--t turd.

He was NEVER ASSOCIATED WITH, ASSIGNED TO, in SUPPORT OF, or attended ANY TRAINING that would qualify his claim of being an 18D.
He was a CAR STEREO SALESMAN and INSTALLER on Yadkin Road the ENTIRE TIME I KNEW HIM. We were in Westarea Fire Department TOGETHER and he lived in a trailer on Haretown road.
It APPEARS that he has taken some of MY SF TRAINING, HISTORY and BACKGROUND, claimed it as his own, and further EMBELLISHED those stories for his own video game centered bravado.

He probably never will. The 7th Grp picture he pretends is his is an ODA from the mid-'80s. We've identified all men in the picture. It also looks like he added a Ranger Tab to his website. He's never before claimed Ranger so this is strange.
He and Mike Mika (President of SFA Ch 34) threatened to sue the SFA National if they didn't rescind the letter they sent us, give Rudi a formal apology, and re-instate him as a member in good standing. Of course SFA National refused and nothing came of his idle threat.
Mike Mika has twice, along with Rudi Gresham the fake Green Beret claimed that Rudi spent 12 years in the S.C. National Guard and that's where he attained the rank of LTC. Neither time were they able to produce records that baked up that statement.
I just looked at his personal website, and it still has a picture autographed by General Yarborough, and a statement that says he served as Yarborough’s Aide. When will this clown give it up? I took screen shots.
Why is he working for the VA?
First of all, thank you folks for what you do, what you’ve done, and what you’re willing to do.
Secondly, it is my hope that Mr Prouix owns up to his lies. I have been watching this story and it disgusts me that there are people who would assume to receive the accolades deserved, but never sought, by better, braver, stronger men.
